Do you have a studio?
No. All the work we do is on location. We feel that the best studio is the one we bring to your business. All our equipment is portable is quick to setup and teardown. In other words, we bring the studio to you.
Do you require a service agreement?
Absolutely. We have found that this keeps everyone informed and protects both parties during our business venture. All clients will be required to sign a service agreement before business commences.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept check, money order, cash, cashier's check, PayPal, and all forms of payment PayPal accepts.
When is payment due?
For our on-site services, session fees will be due upon completion unless other arrangements have been made. Upon receiving an invoice, our terms are either NET15 or "Due upon receipt"; the invoice will be clearly marked as such. Unfortunately, due to a few rotten apples, MCP will only release images or proofs for advertising once payment is collected.
Does MCP retain all copyrights?
Yes. Photography and design are our bread and butter. When you purchase an instance of a photo from MCP, you are not buying the image, you are purchasing either an instance of an image or a license to use the image; this is similar to how you purchase software. If you are purchasing it for advertising, you will be issued, along with the image, a statement from MCP detailing your license. This will be required when using the images with another designer or print shop.
How long does MCP keep photographs?
We never throw away an image. If MCP took a photograph several years back, we still have it. Give us a description and a timeframe and we will find it.
Why does MCP have two logos?
We only have one logo, the RGB sails. The meaning of this logo is clear, we center on photography and red, green, and blue are the primary colors of light. We use the sails because we are based in the beautiful city of Gig Harbor, WA, The Maritime City. The other "logo" you may have seen is the MCP watermark along with the year. Both are trademarks of Maritime City Photography.
I need to remove the MCP watermark from an image, is that okay?
Please clear it with us first. However, some photos for advertising don't work with a watermark. If that is the case, proper photo credit should be given. The photo credit should be: Photo by Maritime City Photography © 2011.
